Mona has to be one of my personal favourite characters in Genshin Impact. Mondstadt's famous astrologer is a powerful ranged DPS character, works great to create Hydro elemental reactions, and has a running talent that makes her one of the most mobile characters in the game, especially if you've been running from place to place to farm old treasure chests in the wild.

But if you want to make the most of Mona, then you need to equip her with a powerful weapon, complementary artifacts, and play her the right way. And we have all of that information right here in this guide - and for everything you can't find here, we have it in our ten facts about Mona list.

Best Weapon for Mona in Genshin Impact

Mona is a caster that likes to stay back and away from the action as opposed to swinging a sword in their faces, and as such she likes to hang back and use catalyst weapons. Another thing that's common with casters is that their elemental abilities become a key part of their battle plan, and that's no different with Mona and her Hydro abilities.

As a result, a good four-star weapon to use is the Mappa Mare, which is craftable so you can enhance it easily, and it also has the added benefit of boosting your elemental reactions - which is exactly what Mona specialises in her with her ranged Hydro abilities.

If you're looking for the very best equipment regardless of the rarity, then naturally the best option is the Skyward Atlas. The Skyward Atlas summons a cloud that adds to the damage you're outputting, in addition to boosting elemental damage. Mona with these benefits is one of the best Hydro characters in the game.

Best Artifacts for Mona in Genshin Impact

Since Mona is designed to stay back while doing damage, the natural choice for her is the Wanderer's Troupe artifact set, a bunch of rare artifacts that'll help Mona rack up damage while fighting enemies. The set includes the following pieces.

  • Troupe's Dawnlight
  • Bard's Arrow Feather
  • Concert's Final Hour
  • Wanderer's String-Kettle
  • Conductor's Top Hat

Just two pieces of this precious set will award Mona with 80 extra elemental mastery, which is nothing to sniff at, but four pieces of the set will give Mona 35% extra charged attack damage, which is great for when Mona charges her Skill and summons a Phantom.

Mona's Playstyle in Genshin Impact

Mona is all about being fast, and staying out of enemy view. She practically dances around the battlefield with her unique talent which allows her to sprint incredibly swiftly, and even over water. This talent can even sneak under flame cannons in certain dungeons, so it's a useful skill. This speed isn't just for traversal though. Combined with her ability to summon Phantoms, it makes Mona all about keeping enemies distracted and staying out of harm's way. Mona won't have much in the way of defence, but can do plenty of damage, and easily inflict enemies with Hydro for elemental reactions.
